Semenggoh Wildlife Centre is located about 32 km south of Kuching, the sanctuary is a rehabilitation centre for Orang Utans which have been injured or captured. The centre also rehabilitates other wildlife including monkeys, honey bears and hornbills which have been orphaned or kept illegally. The main attraction is the Orang utans Rehabilitation Centre which works with this endangered species to return them to their natural habitat.
The daily feeding time for the orang utans is 9.00am to 10.00am in the morning and 3.00pm to 4.00pm in the afternoon. During the feeding time, the orang utans will come out from the jungle (lowland dipterocarp forest) to take and eat the fruits given by the staff of this wildlife centre as they may not be able to find enough food on their own.
